Hot on the heels of "The Little Mermaid", "Aladdin", and "Beauty and the Beast", "The Lion King" was released in June of 1994 to tremendous fanfare. It was the culmination of the revival of Disney animation, featuring a blockbuster cast of voice artists including James Earl Jones, Jonathan Taylor Thomas, Jeremy Irons, Whoopi Goldberg, Cheech Marin, Rowan Atkinson, Nathan Lane, Ernie Sabella, and Matthew Broderick.
