Did you know that Walt Disney had a private apartment above the firehouse in Disneyland? As a prize at an Annual Passholder Event in 1995, we won dinner in that apartment which has been preserved since Walt's passing in 1966. Released in 1984, this 12 field cel of Daffy Duck as "Dorlock Holmes" is one of the first limited edition cels from Chuck Jones, and is relatively rare. Based on the character from the cartoon "Deduce, You Say" he directed, it is hand signed by the late legendary animator Chuck Jones.
The cel was released through the Linda Jones Galleries. It is number 65 of a limited edition of only 200 pieces. The cel measures approximately 9x12" in a 16x18" triple mat and comes with the original frame. It's one of the best in the series, with a large full-figure image of the little black duck we all love looking very confident in a classic pose from this Sherlock Holmes parody. The Chuck Jones Gallery sells this piece for $1495!
