This is an original production cel from an unknown Warner Brothers short that features a fine image of the perpetually romantic Pepe Le Pew. Pepe's voice and character, performed by Mel Blanc, was unabashedly based on French-born actor Maurice Chevalier. A personal friend of Walt Disney, Chevalier started in Vaudeville and appeared in many Hollywood movies such as "Gigi" in which he sings his famous "Thank Heaven For Little Girls", and in 1970 he sang the title song for Disney's "The Aristocats".
Pepe Le Pew remains a favorite character of fans around the world, even though he's rarely seen anymore. This attractive cel shows a nice large image of Pepe, and has a 7-½x11 opening with a matching reproduction background in an 12x16" mat.
